ALFA ROMEO 2000 COUPÉ VIGNALE

A very rare car in the world of classic motoring, the Alfa Romeo 2000 Coupé Vignale is a rolling piece of Italian design history.

Hand-built in 1961 by the legendary Carrozzeria Vignale in Turin, this exclusive model was designed to push the boundaries of the iconic Type 1900. It represents a final flourish of custom coachbuilding before the era of mass production began to reshape the automotive world.

Handcrafted

The Vignale Coupé was based on the Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider (Type 102) chassis. Due to its custom nature, only 47 units of this exclusive design were ever produced, cementing its status as one of the rarest post-war Alfa Romeos in existence.

Chassis No. 45 was one of the first delivered, sold to a Milanese customer in early 1962.

Exclusive

After spending time in the United States, Chassis No. 45 entered the collection of renowned collector Corrado Lopresto, a name synonymous with preserving Italy's coachbuilding heritage.

Under his ownership, the car underwent a meticulous, expert-led restoration in Italy. Between 2009 and 2014, it was a regular star at European and American Concours d’Elegance events, collecting multiple international accolades:

  • Best in Show Award: Concorso di Ludwigsburg (2009), Concorso di Mulhouse (2009)

  • 1st Place Award: Baden Baden, Salvarola Terme, Spa-Francorchamps

  • Most Sporting Post-War Car Award: Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance (2011)

Awarded

In February 2025, the car began its newest chapter. We purchased it from Net Classics in Tuscany and carefully transported it to Classic Remise Berlin, a historic venue dedicated to automotive heritage.

The Vignale Coupé is now proudly showcased by Preselect—a fitting home for a car of this stature as we document its ongoing maintenance and prepare for its next exhibition season.

About Me

Curious by nature and passionate about design, I’m interested in everything that moves—cars, planes, animals and the open road.

By day, I work in sales. But in my free time, I chase what inspires me most: photography, nature, slow travel and classic cars. My premium Hot Wheels collection now includes over 500 models—a tiny tribute to my lifelong love of automotive design.

Owning and sharing the Alfa Romeo 2000 Vignale is a dream come true. Through this site, I document its beauty and legacy while combining my love for visual storytelling with the culture of vintage cars.

When I’m not behind the wheel or the camera, you’ll find me traveling with my family, exploring landscapes, meeting locals or working with my bees.

Thanks for stopping by!
